Insurance Sector: Legal Counsel

A company in the insurance sector is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Counsel to join its Legal & International Affairs Department. The successful candidate will actively contribute to enhancing the quality of legal services and supporting regulatory and institutional initiatives in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments at both national and EU level that impact the insurance sector
• Review decisions from administrative and judicial authorities and inform relevant stakeholders accordingly
• Draft legal memos, policy briefs, and formal position papers on regulatory issues
• Develop and support proposals for improving the legal and regulatory framework governing private insurance
• Provide legal support to internal Committees and Working Groups
• Review and draft contracts
• Assist with internal processes and legal compliance

Requirements

• University degree in Law from a recognized institution

• Postgraduate degree in Law will be considered an asset
• Licensed to practice law in Greece
• Proven legal experience of 3 to 5 years, with at least 2 years related to insurance law or relevant regulatory frameworks
• Excellent command of both Greek and English (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in MS Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint
• Knowledge of a second foreign language will be considered a plus
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
• Time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
